URL -
Okay , this is super super important. You may start off with a url like katie98 or melissa123 or something like that. Please do not use urls like that , they’re just really boring haha. Also do not make your url too long , like tomorrowistomorrow-todayistoday.tumblr.com. Make it short and simple! Go for something more creative! Urls are also important in promos. People will most likely click on interesting urls , not boring ones! So be creativeeee! And make your url easy to remember , not something with lots of dashes preferably or with ‘0’ instead of ‘o’.
YOUR BLOG -
- Your blog is your blog. Post whatever you want , dont let people judge you by what you post!
- Delete text posts after like 15 - 30 minutes. Text makes your blog look really messy.
- Try to make your background a plain color. Of course picture backgrounds could work too , but when you have text on it , it might be hard to read! For boho blogs , usually light backgrounds , so white ,light blue , light brown , stuff like that. For party/hipster blogs dark colours or neon colours!
- Dont put too many links! If you have more than 8+ links , make a special link page!
HOW TO GAIN FOLLOWERS -
Okay. This is the question that I get the most. Like seriously. Read the following steps :
- REBLOG ALOT! By reblogging alot people will notice your blog more = more followers :D
- Ask people to check out your blog. Politely. Make sure that your blog has the same theme to theirs , or they probably wont follow.
- Ask people to do promo4promos with you , but make sure you read their FAQ first! Once again , ask this politely!
- When you’ve reached about 300-400 followers , start doing promos! Such as : First 5. Dont immediately do first 20 or something like that. Chances are it’ll only get about 6 notes.
- Do not lie about your amount of followers. People will lose trust in you and unfollow. No one wants to follow a liar , right?
- Once you’ve reached about 1000+ followers , start doing double promos with people! But then again , read their FAQ first! Some people only do double promos with people who have like 4000+ followers!
- PLEASE DO NOT ADD YOUR URL TO PICTURES YOU REBLOG. DO NOT ADD ‘IF YOU WANT MORE BOHO , CLICK THIS AND FOLLOW’.NO.JUST NO.NO.NO. IT ANNOYS ME SO SO SO MUCH. ITS MY PICTURE, SO DONT ADD YOUR URL.
ASK -
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS read their FAQ before asking ,if they have one! If you ask them a question that has already been answered in their FAQ , they probably wont answer your question. Some people get lots of questions a day and it’ll be really annoying if people ask you questions that have already been answered, right?
But dont forget , tumblr is to express not to impress.
